St. Luke’s Continues “Caring for Your Future” with Two New Pediatric Specialists

Occasional sniffles or belly aches are pretty standard fare with kids. But when your baby’s sensitive stomach doesn’t improve or your teenager develops ongoing allergies, it may be time to see a pediatric specialist. We know the prospect of meeting with a specialist can be scary, which is why St. Luke’s is committed to providing high-quality, full-service pediatric care close to home.

We are pleased to introduce board-certified, pediatric pulmonologist Ashish Shah, MD and fellowship-trained pediatric general surgeon Shaheen Timmapuri, MD.

Dr. Shah is committed to delivering state of the art diagnosis, treatment and management of acute and chronic respiratory disease in children. Utilizing family-centered care, he is dedicated to eliminating or limiting the effects of lung and breathing problems for your child.

Dr. Timmapuri treats of variety of disorders in children including congenital anomalies (birth defects), hernias, appendicitis, skin lesions, cysts, lung masses and pyloric stenosis (thickening of the stomach muscle which blocks food from reaching the small intestine in newborns). She also collaborates with obstetricians and radiologists when abnormalities are detected during pregnancy, planning corrective surgery and educating parents before delivery. This alleviates some anxiety for expectant parents and ensures a coordinated, specialized delivery plan is in place.

Both Dr. Shah and Dr. Timmapuri work closely with pediatricians, primary care physicians and teams from St. Luke’s growing number of pediatric specialties such as cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, nephrology and dermatology. St. Luke’s commitment to adding high-quality pediatric specialists provides our patients and families the convenience of having evaluations, procedures and ongoing care completed close to home.

Ashish Shah, MD graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship training at New York Medical College Hospital.

Shaneen Timmapuri, MD graduated from New Jersey Medical School, followed by a residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and fellowship training at St. Christopher’s Children Hospital. Dr. Timmapuri also completed her MBA at The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
