Kori Rusnock, CRNP, recently joined Kristen Stone-Mulhern, MD, at St. Luke's Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates. Dr. Stone-Mulhern and Kori will provide care for annual exams, women’s health issues, birth control counseling and prenatal care.
Kori completed her nursing education at Moravian College and then spent nearly ten years as a labor and delivery nurse at St. Luke's Bethlehem where she supported and cared for women throughout the delivery process, including triage, the operating and recovery rooms and postpartum. She also worked as a prenatal educator, teaching classes about newborn and postpartum care and breastfeeding to pregnant moms and fathers-and grandparents-to-be.
“Education is so important to make new parents feel empowered, confident and knowledgeable about what to expect and how to care for themselves and their new babies,” says Kori. “I felt very humbled to support and care for women on one of the most important days of their lives - giving birth and becoming a mother.”
After her years in labor and delivery, she decided to go back to school to complete her graduate degree as part of the DeSales University Family Nurse Practitioner program. Now, as a nurse practitioner in an outpatient setting, she plans to use her experience as a labor and delivery nurse to provide patients with compassionate, comprehensive, one-on-one care and help women can feel in charge of their health and well-being.
“I have always had a passion for women's health and providing care to women during all stages of their lives,” says Kori. “Now, I hope that I can continue making a positive impact on the health of women in my new role at St. Luke's Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates.”
