Sacred Heart Obstetrics Services “Delivered” Through New Collaboration with St. Luke’s

Sacred Heart HealthCare System has announced that as of October 10, 2017, Sacred Heart Hospital, located at 421 Chew Street, Allentown, PA will no longer offer labor and delivery services. However, obstetrics services will be “delivered” through a new collaboration with St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Through this collaboration, there is only one change: moms can deliver their babies at St. Luke’s Hospital – Allentown Campus, which is less than two miles away from Sacred Heart Hospital, located at 1736 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA.  Sacred Heart will continue to provide our patients with prenatal visits during pregnancy, maternal fetal medicine visits and check-up visits after delivery at Sacred Heart OB/GYN Services, Sigal Center for Family Medicine, 450 Chew Street, Allentown, PA. In addition, Sacred Heart OB/GYN Services will continue to offer gynecology services to the women of our community.

Pregnant patients will be admitted for delivery at Sacred Heart, 421 Chew Street, Allentown, PA, through 12 am (midnight) on October 9, 2017.  Beginning at 12:01 am on October 10, 2017 (overnight Monday into Tuesday), patients will be admitted to St. Luke’s Hospital – Allentown Campus.

Sacred Heart Hospital’s team of providers, nurses, and staff  have maintained a longstanding commitment to providing obstetrics and gynecology care to our community. For over 100 years, it has been our privilege to provide these services.
