Bethlehem, PA (9/28/2016) – The leadership of St. Luke’s Center for Critical Care has appointed Thomas Zanders, DO, Medical Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem.

Dr. Zanders, a native of the Lehigh Valley and graduate of Muhlenberg College, joined St. Luke’s Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates in 2013 after serving our country in the U.S. Army as a Medical Officer in multiple capacities which included deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation ¬¬¬¬Enduring Freedom.

While in the Medical Corp, Dr. Zanders completed his Internal Medicine as well as a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, San Antonio, Texas.

He was subsequently stationed in San Antonio where he served in many leadership roles, including Medical Director of the Medical Intensive Care unit, assistant fellowship director and officer in charge of respiratory therapy department at Brooke Army Medical Center (one of the largest Military Hospitals on the Continental US) from 2010-2013.

Dr. Zanders lives in Center Valley with his wife Melissa and 4 children.
