Safety and Injury Prevention

In addition to treating injuries, St. Luke’s Adult Level I Trauma Center also has a responsibility to educate the community about preventing injuries. To fulfill this commitment, St. Luke’s employs a full-time education specialist who coordinates community and patient education and injury prevention programs. All programs are free and age-appropriate for children, adolescents, adults or older adults.

Programs are presented at:

  • Health fairs
  • Senior centers
  • Schools
  • Community organizations
  • Civic centers
  • HealthStar (St. Luke’s mobile health unit)

  • Fall Prevention- Matter of Balance
  • Bike/helmet safety
  • Seatbelt safety
  • Playground safety
  • Firearm safety
  • Water safety
  • Safe driving
  • Anti-drug and alcohol
