EMS Week 2022
Annual National EMS Week Celebrations brought to you by St. Luke's University Health Network
EMS Week is celebrated May 15th - 21st, 2022
In 1973, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities. Back then, EMS was a new profession, and EMS practitioners had only just started to be recognized as a critical component of emergency medicine and the public health safety net. Today things have surely changed as our EMS professionals are on the front-line of the COVID-19 crisis–planning, adapting and responding every day to take care of the communities that we serve.
The 2022 EMS Week theme: "EMS: Rising to the Challenge." This theme is particularly meaningful now, to remind people that every day we are faced with so many new challenges in our lives and yet we still rise above them all and continue to respond, support, and care for the needs of our communities. Still, now more than ever, it is important to remember that a major component of EMS Week is honoring and celebrating our EMS professionals who are supporting the health and well-being of our nation.
St. Luke's University Health Network is proud to celebrate the men and women of EMS that play such a vital role in healthcare and the community. If it were not for the professionalism, dedication and training of these fine men and women our patients would often not have such a positive outcome. It is for this very reason that St. Luke's University Health Network is pleased to announce our 2022 EMS Week Celebrations. Come spend the week with us as we recognize your hard work throughout the year.
