Dr. John Wilson Promoted to Medical Director of Emergency Medicine
Dr. John Wilson Named Medical Director of Emergency MedicineBethlehem, PA (8/11/2016) – St. Luke's is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. John Wilson as Medical Director of Emergency Medicine at St. Luke’s University Health Network’s Anderson Campus. Dr. Wilson began his tenure at St. Luke’s seven years ago as a resident and has called the Network home ever since.
“What’s important to me as a physician is to provide excellent medical care while simultaneously making sure that the patient feels cared for,” Dr. Wilson said. “When a patient comes in with a critical illness, they expect clinical excellence but my goal is to ensure they know that our staff cares about them beyond their medical problem.”
John B Wilson, MD
Dr. Wilson completed his undergraduate degree at Clearwater Christian College in Florida and then worked for two years in Neuroscience Research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
He graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri where he discovered that the blend of the hands on and challenging aspects of emergency medicine fit him so perfectly that it became his specialty.
“With our training, we take care of any age patient, we’re trained to take care of any illness, and we’re on the front lines of medicine. There is a great deal of satisfaction when a patient comes in with an acute problem and we’re able to offer relief and a treatment plan.”
“The combination has a broad applicability,” he said. “With our training, we take care of any age patient, we’re trained to take care of any illness, and we’re on the front lines of medicine. There is a great deal of satisfaction when a patient comes in with an acute problem and we’re able to offer relief and a treatment plan.”
While a resident at St. Luke’s University Campus, he fell in love with both the Network and the Lehigh Valley. He resides in the Nazareth area with his wife and three children, is very active in his church and enjoys participating in sports and experiencing the outdoors.
