St. Luke’s requires its employees, physicians, clinicians, vendors, contracted workers, business partners, and others, who provide services to St. Luke’s, to complete Compliance Program requirements including education and training upon hire and/or commencement of services and annually thereafter. Education and training is delivered through a number of methods such as webcasts, computer-based courses and instructor-led sessions. The education and training can be reviewed, independently, at any time.

St. Luke’s has provided Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and other education and training materials for individuals to review and complete. We contract with managed care organizations which require St. Luke’s physicians, employees and others to complete Fraud, Waste & Abuse (“FWA”) training. St. Luke’s is considered a First Tier, Downstream, and Related Entities (“FDRs”) which require us to meet the CMS training requirements. St. Luke’s provide its employees with the required FWA training upon hire and annually thereafter. Individuals who are not employed by St. Luke’s can complete the CMS designed FWA training by visiting www.cms.gov.



HIPAA Privacy & Security: Workforce Training

St. Luke’s provides Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and other education and training materials for individuals to review and complete. St. Luke’s requires members of its “workforce” to complete training to ensure compliance with HIPAA and its implementing regulations. For purposes of HIPAA, a “workforce” member is anyone who is required to comply with St. Luke’s policies as a condition of performing work for St. Luke’s, and includes employees, Medical Staff members and other clinicians, contracted workers, students, agency personnel, certain vendors and business partners, and others who provide services to St. Luke’s while on-site.

Individuals can click the links below to start their education and training. Upon completing the required specific education and training(s), individuals can submit the completed HIPAA Attestation Form and Commitment to Privacy & Confidentiality form to St. Luke’s Human Resources Department: Director of Staffing Resources and Compliance.
