Rajika Reed, PhD., MPH, MEd, has been promoted to the role of Vice President of Community Health at St. Luke’s University Health Network. The appointment was effective Feb. 21.

Reed joined St. Luke’s in 2012 serving as Network Director of Epidemiology. In 2018, she was promoted to Senior Director of Epidemiology and Strategy. Prior to joining St. Luke’s, Reed held several positions in research, data evaluation, and in local community health programs.  

Reed earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, a master’s in public health from the University of Pittsburgh, a master’s in Education from Lehigh University, and most recently, a Doctor of Philosophy in Instructional Design from Lehigh University.

Reed, originally from Sri Lanka, lives in Allentown with her husband, Chris, and their two teenage children. When Reed isn’t teaching, collecting, analyzing data or working on a project for community health, she enjoys cooking, traveling, hiking and spending time with friends and family.  

In her new role, Reed will build upon the work of St. Luke’s Community Health Department, which aims to achieve health equity by reducing health disparities in the communities that the network serves.

“I am excited about my new role because it allows me to continue and expand on my passion for serving our communities, while advocating and ensuring access to quality care, especially among our most vulnerable populations,” Reed said.
