Dr. El Chaar trained at Drexel University, St. Luke’s University Hospital and the University of North Carolina-Carolinas Medical Center where he completed a fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is a member of the Clinical Issues Committee of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery which is responsible for the development of guidelines and recommendations for the practice of bariatric surgery.
