COALDALE, PA (2/28/14) – Bill Moyer, President of St. Luke’s Miners Campus, and J. David Bohri, MD, Medical Staff President and Chairman of the St. Luke's Miners Campus Board of Trustees, recently presented an engraved chair to local physician Dillswar Sahoo, MD, in recognition of his many years of service on the St. Luke's Miners Campus Board of Trustees.
Leadership and Commitment to Health of the Community
The gift was made on behalf of the St. Luke's Miners Campus medical staff in appreciation of Dr. Sahoo’s leadership and commitment to the health of the community, said Dr. Bohri. Dr. Sahoo played a significant role in facilitating the partnership between the former Miners Memorial Hospital and St. Luke's Health Network, he continued.
“I was a member of the board before our affiliation with St. Luke’s and made the motion to fully join the St. Luke's University Health Network. As I look at where this hospital is and where it is going, that decision was a very good thing for the entire community,” said Dr. Sahoo.
Quality Care and Compassion for More than Three Decades
In addition to his tireless support of the hospital, Dr. Sahoo is well known for the quality care and compassion he provided to his patients for more than three decades, Dr. Bohri said. “Dr. Sahoo always put his patients first and always worked for the betterment of this hospital,” he concluded.
After practicing internal medicine for 31 years in Coaldale, Dr. Sahoo officially retired in September 2013.
