New Visitation Policy at St. Luke's Due to Flu Outbreak

Lehigh Valley, PA. (1/21/2013) - Due to a community-wide surge in influenza and flu-like illnesses, all six St. Luke's University Health Network Hospitals are instituting a uniform hospital visitation policy as follows until further notice. The visiting restrictions are as follows:

• No visitors 18 years of age and under
• No visitors with any symptoms of flu-like illness (fever, cough, sore throat, body aches)

The new restrictions are effective immediately and are designed to protect the hospitals' patients and staff.

Visitor restrictions are in effect at:

• St. Luke's Hospital – Allentown Campus
• St. Luke's Hospital – Anderson Campus
• St. Luke's University Hospital – Bethlehem
• St. Luke's Hospital – Miners Campus (Coaldale)
• St. Luke's Hospital – Quakertown Campus
• St. Luke's Hospital - Warren Campus (Phillipsburg, NJ)

The visitor restriction is temporary and is being instituted in hospitals and long-term care facilities throughout the Lehigh Valley to help inhibit the spread of influenza as recommended by the Allentown and Bethlehem Health Bureaus.
