Bethlehem, PA (2/18/2013) - St. Luke’s University Hospital – Bethlehem and St. Luke’s Hospital – Anderson Campus conducted a joint food drive as a community outreach to New Bethany Ministries and the Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley. The hospitals gathered food in a month-long campaign called “Give from the Heart” that culminated the week of Valentine’s Day.

More than 2,660 individual food items have been donated and were delivered to the two locations on Friday, Feb 15. The 150 boxes of items include nearly 600 cans of vegetables, more than 500 cans of soup, more than 300 boxes of pasta, canned meats, breakfast items, etc.

Carol Kuplen, COO, St. Luke’s University Hospital – Bethlehem and Chief Nursing Officer for the St. Luke’s University Health Network, said, “I am so grateful for the generosity of St. Luke’s employees in organizing the food drive and donating food items to this effort. We are proud to be able to give from the heart to our neighbors in need.”
