Cancer Expert Renu Lamba, MD Joins St. Luke’s Hematology-Medical Oncology Specialists

Dr. Renu Lamba

Coaldale, PA (6/26/2012) - Medical oncologist/hematologist Renu Lamba, MD has joined Drs. Sanjiv Agarwala, Asim Ali, Neil Belman, Yacoub “Jack” Faroun, Hikaru Nakajima and Subhash Proothi at St. Luke’s Hematology-Medical Oncology Specialists. Dr. Lamba will focus her practice at St. Luke’s Hospital - Miners Campus in Coaldale.

Dr. Lamba received her MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (M.G.I.M.S.), in Maharashtra, India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at both New York Medical College, Manhattan, NY and at M.G.I.M.S. in India.

Dr. Lamba completed fellowships in Oncology/Hematology from Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas and internationally at the University of Bologna in Italy. She also completed a bone marrow transplant fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, in addition to other research fellowships. She has served as faculty at several prestigious universities in United States and abroad.

Board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, Dr. Lamba has extensively published in peer-reviewed journals and given presentations at numerous national and international conferences.

About St. Luke’s Hospital - Miners Campus Infusion Center

St. Luke’s Hospital – Miners Campus opened a beautiful new Infusion Center on the Third Floor of the Hospital’s West Wing to serve cancer and intravenous infusion therapy patients earlier this year. The center offers five new comfortable infusion chairs with personal televisions and scenic views of the valley. The center also features a waiting room to be used exclusively by infusion center patients whose immune systems may be compromised.

Services provided include chemotherapy; injections, including B 12, once daily Lovenox and erythropoietin; IV Infusions including iron, hydration, Remicade and Reclast; blood transfusions; IV antibiotics; therapeutic phlebotomy; and port flushes.
