St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital Hosts Annual Breast Cancer Luncheon

Learn how family history can affect your risk of breast cancer

Coaldale, PA (10/3/2011) – In celebration of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital is again hosting their annual luncheon and presentation on Sunday, October 16th at 2 pm (doors open at 1:45 pm). The luncheon will be held at Macaluso’s at the Lantern Inn in Nesquehoning. Andrea J. Smith, MS, CGC, will present “Genetics & Breast Cancer: How Does Family Affect Risk?”. A certified genetic counselor with St. Luke’s Family Cancer Risk Evaluation Program, Smith will discuss how family history can affect your risk of developing breast cancer, how family history information can be used to help make decisions regarding screenings and the use of genetic testing.
