Dr. Steven Olenchock

Stephen A. Olenchock, Jr., DO, FACC

  • Earned undergraduate degree in biology at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania
  • Awarded medical degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia
  • Completed internship at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Completed general surgery residency and served as chief general surgical resident at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
  • Completed cardiothoracic surgery residency at Tufts University/New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts
  • Member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and American Association of Thoracic Surgeons

Dr. Olenchock serves as an integral member of the St. Luke's Heart Valve Center team.

Jose D. Amortegui, MD

Dr. Amortegui serves as the Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support Program for St. Luke’s Hospital & Health Network. In this role, he directs our Network's extracorporeal mechanical support of patients with cardiovascular or pulmonary collapse with devices such as ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenator) and guides the surgical treatment options of patients with end-stage heart failure in need of VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) support.
