Cancellations

If you ever need to cancel an appointment, please call your physician or therapist at the St. Luke's Bone & Joint Institute as soon as possible. We ask that you give 24-hours notice of cancellation so that we can offer the appointment time to another patient.

Emergencies

If you believe you are having a medical emergency and any delay in medical attention could result in a life-threatening situation, call 911 or go immediately to the nearest emergency room for treatment and notify your doctor at the St. Luke's Bone & Joint Institute as soon as you are able.

If you have a health concern that arises during the day, please contact your physician or therapist at the St. Luke's Bone & Joint Institute. Please provide your name and a description of the issue. If a health concern arises at night or during the weekend, please call your physician’s office number and speak with the answering service who will contact the physician on-call.

Questions About Treatment

We understand that you may have specific questions about your treatment and care. Our goal is to make sure that you understand every aspect of your treatment. We also welcome your telephone calls. A member of our staff is typically available to answer your question at the time of your call. However, in the event that we need to consult with one of the physicians or therapists to answer your question, we will do our best to get back to you in a timely manner. Insurances/Referrals

We accept most major insurance plans, including several managed care plans (HMOs). Most insurance plans require a referral from your primary care physician. Most physicians are not permitted to see you without a written referral and you should be prepared to provide it at the time of your initial consultation. Retroactive referrals cannot be issued for care already received. If you do not have the appropriate referral at the time of your visit, you may be required to reschedule your appointment. If you have any questions about referrals, do not hesitate to call us. We are always available to assist you.

Payment

Most of our practices accept cash, most major credit cards or personal checks with proper identification. Please check with your specific practice before your appointment.

Payment is due at the time of the office visit. Co-payments are not billable and are due at the time of the office visit.

Prescription Refills

At our Quakertown Bone & Joint Institute, prescription refills can be obtained during office hours only. Our Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
