Healthcheck Wellness Center
In the fall of 1996, representatives of the Geriatrics Institute of St. Luke’s Hospital & Health Network met with managers from Moravian House and the Bethlehem Senior Center to explore a partnership to deal with the problems related to the increasing age and frailty of the Moravian House residents. I developed a service program for the elderly and disabled residents for medical information assistance for hospitals, doctors and other medical agencies. Moravian Development Corporation, in concert with St. Luke’s Hospital & Health Network's Geriatric Division, organized the Moravian House's Healthcheck Wellness Center, located in Moravian House I. The Wellness Center, through the guidance of a service coordinator, invites all senior tenants and others outside of the Moravian Houses to blood pressure checks, blood drawings, doctor and nurse visits throughout the monthly scheduled days.

Ryan's Tree

Ryan's Tree is a guided peer support program for children and adolescents grieving the loss of a family member or friend. Founded on the belief that young people grieve in their own way, staff and trained volunteers provide support in a nurturing environment to promote healing of children and teens affected by death. We offer non-judgmental and unconditional support to young people ages 5 - 18, with age appropriate sessions. Ryan's Tree also offers guidance and support to assist families in maintaining a positive home environment, identifying support systems and encouraging family communication.
