Community Support
at St. Luke's University Health Network
In keeping with our commitment to the communities we serve, St. Luke’s offers a variety of free services/screenings for community-run events throughout the year. St. Luke’s also accepts sponsorship requests and donation requests for fellow non-profit institutions. To receive support from St. Luke's University Health Network, organizations must meet our community support criteria. Due to the large volume of requests, we kindly ask that you fill out a form below at least three months prior to your event. Eligible requests will be evaluated periodically and you will be contacted regarding a decision.

Community Support Projects
Healthcheck Wellness Center
In the fall of 1996, representatives of the Geriatrics Institute of St. Luke’s University Health Network met with managers from Moravian House and the Bethlehem Senior Center to explore a partnership to deal with the problems related to the increasing age and frailty of the Moravian House residents. Moravian House I developed a service program for the elderly and disabled residents for medical information assistance for hospitals, doctors and other medical agencies. Moravian Development Corporation, in concert with St. Luke’s University Health Network's Geriatric Division, organized the Moravian House's Healthcheck Wellness Center, located in Moravian House I. The Wellness Center, through the guidance of a service coordinator, invites all senior tenants and others outside of the Moravian Houses to blood pressure checks, blood drawings, doctor and nurse visits throughout the monthly scheduled days.
Heart Smart Program
The St. Luke's Heart Smart Program allows you to eat smart and have a good heart! St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network is working with area restaurants to design and offer heart smart meals. Restaurants have been provided with heart smart recipes, serving suggestions and food substitutions. Look for special food offerings at local fine dining establishments.
Reading Rocks!

Reading Rocks!, a joint reading-mentorship program of St. Luke’s Hospital and Lehigh University’s Athletic Department holds annual book drives across the region, including at St. Luke’s. Books are donated to the 450 students at Donegan Elementary School in Bethlehem who are participating in Reading Rocks!
Ryan's Tree

Ryan's Tree is a guided peer support program for children and adolescents grieving the loss of a family member or friend. Founded on the belief that young people grieve in their own way, staff and trained volunteers provide support in a nurturing environment to promote healing of children and teens affected by death. We offer non-judgmental and unconditional support to young people ages 5 - 18, with age appropriate sessions. Ryan's Tree also offers guidance and support to assist families in maintaining a positive home environment, identifying support systems and encouraging family communication.
Community Health Department
The Community Health Department of St. Luke's Hospital continues to strive to achieve its mission of partnering with the community to increase health awareness, improve the health status of the community and encourage appropriate access to health services. The Bethlehem Partnership for a Healthy Community and St. Luke's mobile health units, HealthStar I and HealthStar II, have been the primary venues for achieving this mission.
