Helping children is our specialty. At St. Luke's Pediatric Rehabilitation, our staff offers a multidisciplinary approach and individual solutions to children who are struggling with a wide range of disorders including, but not limited to:

Individualized Treatment Plans

Treatment plans are created on an individual basis following an evaluation with a therapist. Active participation in therapy and carryover activities by the patient and caregiver are essential for progress.

Social Skills Training

The social skills training groups are currently available for children and adolescents ages five through fourteen. The groups are targeted for children and adolescents with autism, Asperger's syndrome, nonverbal learning disorder, and developmental delays. The social skills training groups help to instruct social skills to facilitate the development and maintenance of positive social relationships and friendships. The groups also help individuals cope effectively with and adaptively with the demands of their various social environments. The social skills training groups incorporate the teachings of Jed E. Baker, Ph.D. and Michelle Garcia Winner.

Staff

Dedicated Staff with Specialized Training

The St. Luke's Pediatric Rehabilitation team includes:

Occupational Therapy: enabling appropriate and independent play, fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual motor skills, and self help skills.

Physical Therapy: assesses and treats strength, gross motor skills, overall mobility in order to improve and maximize function independently and safely within the daily environment.

The Physical Therapy team helps families obtain and manage medical equipment, including bracing and orthotics, that are specific to each patient.

Speech-Language Pathology Services: evaluates and treats disorders of articulation, language, fluency, voice, feeding, swallowing, and combinations of these in order to allow the patient to communicate functionally and effectively as well as have safe swallowing.

Audiology Services: offers hearing evaluations, dispenses and repairs a full range of hearing instruments, plus several specialized diagnostic evaluations.

We offer these services for birth through adolescence to maximize their ability to move, play and communicate.
