Distinction of Top 8 National Ranking by Beckers Hospital Review - St. Luke's Miners Ranked Eighth in the Nation and First in Pennsylvania
Coaldale, PA (2/4/2014) – St. Luke's Miners Campus has achieved top eight national ranking by Beckers Hospital Review for the Highest Value-Based Purchasing Scores. The hospital earned a national ranking of eight out of 2,728 United States hospitals and was ranked first in Pennsylvania.
“I am very proud of the great work our team does every day to make us an excellent hospital,” stated Bill Moyer, President, St. Luke's Miners Campus. “To be able to achieve these national benchmarks and to be recognized at this level demonstrates the skills, compassion and dedication to quality and hard work of our entire staff.”
Each hospital's individual score for the Value-Based Program (VBP) focuses on three main areas: clinical process of care, patient experience of care and outcomes. Medicare uses VBP to reward hospitals for improving quality of care, reimbursing a higher percentage of Medicare payments to those hospitals that performed well on healthcare quality measures as well as in patient satisfaction.
St. Luke's Miners Campus is one of two hospitals in Pennsylvania to achieve this top 25 national recognition.
