HomeStar Medical Equipment Moves
Expanded Services Available in New Location
HomeStar Medical Equipment has moved its Bethlehem facility from Highland Avenue and is now located at 77 South Commerce Way in a new 70,000-square-foot building.
As of February 11, the facility will expand its hours to 8 am to 6 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.
HomeStar Medical Equipment is a full service provider of medical equipment and infusion services since 1999 and is accredited by the Joint Commission. HomeStar works with physicians to provide appropriate home medical equipment to patients with continuing medical needs.
Some of the many services and products that HomeStar offers include hospital equipment, orthopedic braces, diabetic products, respiratory and infusion therapy services. Additionally, state-licensed and CPR-certified therapists employed by HomeStar provide equipment set-up and maintenance as well as answer customer questions. Additionally, a certified orthopedic technician is available to fit patients for braces after trauma or surgery.
According to Dominick DeSarro, Administrator for HomeStar Medical Equipment, “Our new location allows HomeStar to have access to a larger space which will better serve our valued customers as they are able to view a large array of home health products on our sales floor. This increase in space will also allow for the future movement of HomeStar Infusion Services from its current location at St. Luke's Hospital - Bethlehem Campus to our new location in late spring.”
At the new location, HomeStar Infusion Services will then be able to expand to better meet the needs of its customers, hospital staff and physicians, said DeSarro. HomeStar also maintains two additional sites in Tamaqua and Lansdale .
DeSarro stated that an addition of an institutional pharmacy in late spring on the premises will allow HomeStar to provide prescription medication, IVs and pharmaceutical services to the long term care industry, like nursing homes, assisted living facilities, ambulatory surgery centers and rehab hospitals.
A for-profit division of St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network, HomeStar recognizes the many challenges facing people with sudden or unexpected lifestyle and health changes. HomeStar is the only regional company of its kind affiliated with a health care system, said DeSarro. Recently HomeStar underwent a name change to St. Luke's HomeStar Services, LLC to reflect its affiliation with St. Luke’s and the addition of new pharmacy services.
“HomeStar is committed to providing high quality, comprehensive products, programs and support services that will enable clients to achieve the best possible health outcome and quality of living,” he said. “We offer services that are an extension of the hospital system to help our patients while at home, which completes the continuum of health care.”
