When encountering a high risk patient while transporting to St. Luke's, we ask you:
1. Please notify the receiving facility as soon as possible via your local PSAP or via cellular phone. See our mobile website for campus phone numbers
2. EMS should enter and stage outside all campus Emergency Departments via the normal route/location.
3. Suspected Ebola patients and EMS crew should remain in their EMS unit and await a verbal screening/exam by the ED Physician. The ED Physician will be donned in the appropriate level of PPE and will make his or her assessment via appropriate means.
4. If the patient is deemed high risk, the EMS crew will be directed by SLUHN staff from each facility in accordance with their respective ED Algorithm for the isolation and treatment of suspected Ebola patients.
5. Exposure screening and any needed decontamination services for EMS personnel will be provided at all locations.
