Surgery is the first treatment for most types of cancers. St. Luke’s has three specially trained surgical oncologists on staff. This ensures that the surgery offered throughout St. Luke’s Hospital & Health Network is state-of-the-art.

Medical Oncology
Medical oncology includes using chemotherapy, biotherapy and other new drugs to treat and prevent cancer. Most chemotherapy is given in an outpatient setting, such as a doctor’s office. This is because improvements to chemotherapy now allow doctors to better control its side effects.
Our medical oncology procedures are performed at the following locations:
Radiation Oncology
Radiation oncology services are available at the St. Luke's Cancer Center at the Bethlehem University and Allentown Campuses for all patients from St. Luke's University Health Network hospitals. Free van service, Star Transport (484-526-4300), is available for patients needing transportation.
