Cooks Sign On Bonus Program

Starting November 14, 2016 any experienced Cook with 1-2 years of large scale food preparation, catering and menu preparation hired by St. Luke’s University Health Network will receive a $250 sign on bonus. This will be paid following 90 days of service.

Summary/Responsibilities:

  • Provides patients, visitors, and co-workers with outstanding customer service.
  • Works directly with other Cooks in coordinating the total department menu and catering.
  • Responsible for cooking the main dishes and assists in the preparation of foods, following recipes and standard practices and procedures.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Training and Experience:
Two years previous experience in large scale food preparation. Training in institutional food preparation.

Nutrition Services Sign On Bonus Program

Starting November 14, 2016 any experienced Nutrition Service Aide, Food Server or Kiosk attendant with a strong desire to deliver excellent customer service to patients and customers hired by St. Luke’s University Health Network will receive a $150 sign on bonus. This will be paid following 30 days of service.

Summary/Responsibilities:

  • Provides patients, visitors, and co-workers with outstanding customer service.
  • Management of patient’s menus, accurate special diets, supplementary feedings and required between meal feedings.
  • Seeks to obtain 100% patient selected menus.
  • Promotes meal assistance to all patients on a daily basis; including meal selection, service, and retrieval.
  • Delivers late trays, floor stock, nourishments, snacks, and supplements.
  • Also is responsible for stocking the kitchens, picking up patient menus, and recording calorie counts and I & O’s. Transports food carts as needed.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Customer service experience preferred.

Training and Experience: On the job.

Environmental Services Sign On Bonus Program

Starting November 14, 2016 any Environmental Services Service Aide seeking an opportunity to deliver high quality cleaning services so our patients and visitors have a great experience throughout St. Luke’s will receive a $150 sign on bonus. This will be paid following 30 days of service.

Summary/Responsibilities:

  • Uses appropriate cleaning supplies and chemical according to departmental procedures.
  • Cleans and prepares patient rooms, beds, stretchers and other assigned areas in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Uses safe and proper cleaning procedures.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Training: On the job training. Previous experience a plus.

Registered Nurse Sign On Bonus Program

Starting August 1, 2016, any experienced Registered Nurse hired by St. Luke’s University Health Network will receive a $2,500 sign on bonus paid in 3 separate installments.

Bonus will be pro-rated based on budgeted position hours and will follow the payment schedule as outlined above.

Summary / Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers nursing care for patients across their life span, and through the nursing process, assesses, plans, implements, and documents the effects of care. Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
  • Performs in depth, systematic assessment of all assigned patients.
  • Formulates collaborative and individualized plan of care and identifies expected patient outcomes, using the nursing process.
  • Implements, evaluates and documents patient care interventions and effectiveness in accordance with care plan.

Education: Current RN license in the State of Pennsylvania.

Training and Experience: One year medical/surgical experience preferred. Individualized orientation program for all areas. Evidence of successful completion of BLS.

Respiratory Therapist Sign On Bonus Program

Starting August 1, 2016, any experienced Respiratory Therapist hired by St. Luke’s University Health Network will receive a $2,500 sign on bonus paid in 3 separate installments.

Bonus will be pro-rated based on budgeted position hours and will follow the payment schedule as outlined above.

Summary / Responsibilities:
  • Assesses patients’ condition and need for respiratory care; provides appropriate therapy in designated critical and all non-critical areas according to the physician order.
  • Performs diagnostic studies and evaluates results as they relate to the patient.
  • Sets and maintains ventilator support of both adult and children in all critical care areas.
  • Document patient’s assessment and findings on medical record and consults with physicians regarding appropriate therapy.
  • Administers respiratory medications, documentations and evaluates outcome.
  • Administers respiratory care and O2 therapy modalities to patient following physician order or protocol. Evaluates results of therapy.
Education:
  • Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in a State of Pennsylvania.
  • Received credentials through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Training and Experience: Minimum of 4 months clinical experience, either concurrent with training program or post-graduation. Departmental orientation appropriate for knowledge and expertise.
